Ariel Gail
Prof. Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. Her name has been widely praised for pioneering the study of witness testimony by children and the eyewitness memory within legal contexts. Professor Goodman has published widely as well as received numerous grants. She has also received several international and national awards. She has worked with many authorities and organisations all over the world to conduct studies and policy issues pertaining to child victims of the justice system. She is a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a part of many professional organizations including The Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychological Psychology for Women and Traumatic Stress). She also is a founding participant of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as the President of the American Psychological Association's three divisions including Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Family and Child Policy and Practice.
